This writ petition has been filed for a direction to the Odisha Information Commission, Bhubaneswar to dispose of Second Appeal No.2110 of 2022 within a stipulated period.

Learned counsel for the Petitioner submits that although the appeal under Section 19 (3) of the Right to Information Act, 2005 is pending since 2^nd May, 2024, but no step has yet been taken for issuance of notice in the matter to the Respondents. Hence, the Petitioner is seriously prejudiced.

Mr. Dash, learned counsel appearing on behalf of Mr. B.K. Dash, learned counsel for the Odisha Information Commission submits that the appeals before the Odisha Information Commission are being taken up serially and the appeal filed by the Petitioner shall be taken up in due course.

Taking note of the submissions made by learned counsel for the parties, this Court, without expressing any opinion on the submission of learned counsel for the Petitioner, disposes of this writ petition with a direction that if there is any urgency in the matter, the Petitioner is at liberty to file an application before the Odisha Information Commission to take up the matter out of turn and in that event, such application may be considered in accordance with law and the Information Commission may proceed with the matter accordingly.
