This matter is taken up today in the 3^rd National Lok Adalat.

Heard learned counsel for the Petitioners as well as learned counsel for the Opposite Party No.2.

Pursuant to the notice for 3^rd National Lok Adalat which is being held today i.e. 14.09.2024 both the Petitioners as well as Opposite Party No.2 are present along with their respective counsels. The Parties present personally in Court expresses their desire to close the matter on compromise.

On perusal of the record it appears that the present application has been filed under Section 482 Cr.P.C. by the Petitioners with a prayer to quash the C.T. Case No.2327 of 2018 arising out of Sahidnagar P.S. Case No.244 of 2018 pending in the file of learned J.M.F.C.-III, Bhubaneswar for alleged commission of offences under Sections 420, 467, 468, 471, 469, 120-B and 34 of IPC. Initially on the complaint of Opposite Party No.2-Complainant dated 27.02.2018, learned S.D.J.M., Bhubaneswar registered 1.C.C. Case No.814 of 2018 thereafter the same was forwarded to the Sahidnagar Police

Station in exercise of power under Section 156(3) of Cr.P.C. Finally, the Sahidnagar P.S. Case No.244 of 2018 came into existence.

Learned counsel for the Petitioner at the outset contended that the dispute involved in the present application has arisen due to misunderstanding between the Petitioners and the informant. He further contended that none of the Petitioners had any intention to commit cheating or any other offences punishable under the Indian Penal Code. However, on the intervention of the well-wishers the matter has been settled on compromise on 24.03.2023. He further contended that pursuant to the aforesaid compromise the entire money has been paid to the informant by the Petitioners.

The Informant who is present before the Lok Adalat along with his counsel filed an affidavit on 14.09.2024 wherein he has categorically stated that he has received a sum of Rs.14,60,000/(Rupees Fourteen Lakhs Sixty Thousand only) from the accusedPetitioners. He further stated that the Informant does not want to continue further in C.T. Case No.2327 of 2018 out of which the present application arises.

Since the parties have settled the matter amicably, and the informant who is present in Lok Adalat acknowledges a receipt of amount in his affidavit dated 14.09.2024, further taking note of the fact that the alleged offences are compoundable in nature, this Court permits the parties to compound the offences. Accordingly, C.T. Case No.2327 of 2018 arising out of Sahidnagar P.S. Case No.244 of 2018 pending in the file of learned J.M.F.C.-III, Bhubaneswar stands closed.
