The learned 2^nd Addl. Sessions Judge, Puri vide its letter No.1950 dated 16.10.2025 has prayed for extension of three months’ time for completion of trial of S.T. Case No.19/146 of 2024 arising out of G.R. Case No.479 of 2023 corresponding to Puri Sadar P.S. Case No.241 of 2023 pending in his Court.

In the said letter No.1950 dated 16.10.2025, the learned 2^nd Addl. Sessions Judge, Puri has indicated that, till yet altogether 31 numbers of witnesses out of

37 number of witnesses have been examined in S.T. Case No.19/146 of 2024. Two witnesses are reported untraced and two witnesses are declined by the prosecution. Two witnesses including the I.O. are yet to be examined and the I.I.C., Sadar P.S., Puri has intimated as per the report of State F.S.L., the material objects relating to the said case are not traced out and the same has not been examined till 02.09.2025. Therefore, the State FSL, Rasulgarh, Bhubaneswar has been requested in Form No.(M)-8 of G.R. & C.O. Criminal Vol.II for early return of the material objects along with chemical examination report for early disposal of the case. Form (M) 25-A of G.R. & C.O. Criminal Vol.II along with summons in duplicate have been sent to the Supdt. Of Police, C.I.D., (C.B.), Odisha Cuttack vide letter No.1921 dated 13.10.2025 to procure the attendance of the Investigation Officer and the case was posted to 17.10.2025 for evidence from the side of the prosecution awaiting the chemical examination report.

So, The learned 2^nd Addl. Sessions Judge, Puri had prayed for extension of another three months’ time to complete the trial.

It appears from the order dated 23.07.2025 passed in BLAPL No.2771 of 2024 that, first three months’ time was granted to the learned 2^nd Addl. Sessions Judge, Puri for completion of trial of S.T. Case No.19/146 of 2024 pending in his Court. When, the

learned 2^nd Addl. Sessions Judge, Puri could not complete the trial of the S.T. Case No.19/146 of 2024 within the said stipulated period of three months’, then, the learned 2^nd Addl. Sessions Judge, Puri as per his letter No.1537 dated 08.07.2025 had prayed for extension of four months’ time.

So, by taking the said letter No.1537 dated 08.07.2025 of the learned 2^nd Addl. Sessions Judge, Puri into account, as per order dated 23.07.2025 passed in BLAPL No.2771 of 2024, this Court had extended three months’ time to the learned 2^nd Addl. Sessions Judge, Puri for completion of the trial of S.T. Case No.19/146 of 2024.

In spite of extending another three months’ time vide order dated 23.07.2025, the trial of S.T. Case No.19/146 of 2024 has not been completed by the learned 2^nd Addl. Sessions Judge, Puri.

Thereafter, again the learned 2^nd Addl. Sessions Judge, Puri has prayed for extension of three months’ time for completion of the trial of the said case by stating the aforesaid reasons in his letter No.1950 dated 16.10.2025.

So, by taking the reasons assigned by the learned 2^nd Addl. Sessions Judge, Puri in its letter No.1950 dated 16.10.2025 into account, it is felt proper to extend two months’ time since today to the learned 2^nd Addl. Sessions Judge, Puri for completion of the trial of S.T.

Registry is directed to communicate the copy of this order along with letter No.1950 dated 16.10.2025 of the learned 2^nd Addl. Sessions Judge, Puri and letter No.5942 dated 16.10.2025 of the learned District Judge, Puri to the learned 2^nd Addl. Sessions Judge, Puri immediately for his information and necessary action to comply the directions made in this order.

As such, the letter No.1950 dated 16.10.2025 of the learned 2^nd Addl. Sessions Judge, Puri is answered.
