The prosecution case in brief is that the victim girl aged about 13 years had been impregnated by one Barun Majhi. As she was a minor and unwell, her father had approached the Collector, Kendrapara and on the basis of order of the Collector, she was produced before the C.W.C. on 15.11.2017 and placed in Swaraj Seva Gruha vide order passed in C.W.C. Case No.2281 of 2017. Thereafter, the victim gave birth a female child on 31.12.2017 at Keonjhar District Hospital. After being discharged from hospital, she was transferred to Swaraj Seva Gruha, a Child Care institution of Lutherian Mahila Samiti on 2.1.2018 along with her new born baby daughter. Thereafter, the victim was told by Renubala Panda, appellant in CRLA No.480 of 2021 that her child was unwell and had to be placed in the ICU and her signature and LTI of her parents were necessary for treatment and these were taken in some documents. Thereafter on the plea that the baby was to be fed lactogen, the baby was separated from her and subsequently though the victim had asked for the baby, the baby was not returned to her. She was threatened by co-accused, Pravat Chandra Bhuyan @ Bapi and Reena @ Renubala Panda (Reena Apa), appellant in CRLA No.480 of 2021. Thereafter, the victim has alleged that the child has been sold with the connivance of Pravat Chandra Bhuyan, Renubala Panda and staff of the Collectorate under the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015.
