Heard learned counsel for the parties.
This writ petition has been entertained as a Public Interest Litigation on three distinct issues, one is regarding construction raised by several hoteliers and other persons in contravention of the provisions of the notification issued by the Central Government creating CRZ-2, second is pollution of the coastal area and the third is grabbing of public land by certain individuals.
In view of the affidavit filed by the Collector, Puri, it is directed that the proceedings which are pending for unauthorized construction in violation of Coastal Regulation Zone will be taken up giving priority. The litigations which are pending will be pursued in true spirit and the compliance report will be put on record as soon as the matter is over.
With the aforesaid order, this writ petition stands disposed of for the time being.
However, it is made clear that we have not expressed any opinion on the merits of the case of either of the parties. It will be open for again taking up suo motu petitions, if situation so warrants.

A free copy of this order be handed over to learned A.G.A. for the State forthwith.
