The present application was filed assailing the order of cognizance passed by the learned S.D.J.M.,Nayagarh in the aforesaid case. It is now submitted that on the F.I.R. lodged by the informant, the case was registered against the present petitioners along with two others and the main allegation of the offences was against Jeetenddra Kumar Sathua. The present petitioners are the mother and sister of said Jeetendra Kumar Sathua. It is further submitted that in the meantime, the said main accused Jeetendra Kumar Sathua along with his father moved criminal misc. case no.3657 of 2017 before this Court under Section 482,Cr.P.C. and by order dated 24.04.2018, the proceeding against them has been quashed taking into consideration the appearance and the filing of affidavits by the informant that due to some misunderstanding, the F.I.R. was lodged and in the meantime, the matter has been amicably settled and the daughter of the informant has got married at another place leading a happy marital life. The copy of the said order is placed before the Court for perusal. Thus, it is submitted that the proceeding having been quashed against the co-accused persons, continuance of the criminal proceeding in the stated circumstances would be a futile exercise wasting the
