1. The above interlocutory application [I.A. No.151 of 2024 (SZ) in O.A. No.107 of 2023 (SZ)] is filed by the applicant/Mr. Prabhakaran Veeraarasu, who is an environment engineer associated with “Poovulagin

Nanbargal”, a registered Public Trust, to implead himself as a party respondent in the Original Application.

To be noted is that the Suo Moto cognizance was taken based on the newspaper reports concerning water contamination revealed in a study conducted by the aforementioned NGO viz., Poovulagin Nanbargal. Therefore, it is necessary to implead the applicant in I.A. No.151 of 2024 (SZ) as a party respondent in the main proceeding.

3. Hence, the interlocutory application [I.A. No.151 of 2024 (SZ) in O.A. No.107 of 2023 (SZ)] is allowed and the proposed party is impleaded as additional Respondent No.11 in the main application.

4. The Registry is directed to carry out the amendment in the cause title.

5. The newly added party viz., Respondent No.11 is directed to file their reply.

6. The report of the CMWSSB is filed. The report of the Executive Engineer - Water Resources Department is filed along with the water analysis report.

7. The learned counsel appearing for the Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board requested some more time to file the report.
