The petitioner is before this Court seeking issuance of a Writ of

Mandamus directing the respondent to restore the agricultural electricity service connection to the agricultural property of the petitioner’s wife in Survey Nos.505/2A and 3, Muthusamypuram, Krishnapuram Part-I, Kadayanallur Taluk, Tenkasi District.

The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the

electricity service connection was initially provided by the

respondent/TANGEDCO upon payment of a sum of Rs.2,50,000/-. However, after a period of four months, the service connection was disconnected on the ground that it had been sanctioned due to 2/4

irregularities committed by the officials of the second respondent. It is further submitted that disciplinary action has been initiated against the concerned officials. The petitioner has also submitted a representation dated 12.01.2026 seeking restoration of the electricity service connection.

In view of the above, the second respondent is directed to consider the petitioner’s representation dated 12.01.2026 on its own merits and in accordance with law, and pass appropriate orders within a period of four (4) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
