This Writ Petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus to call for the records relating to the proceedings in Na.Ka.A7/17/2022 dated 02.12.2022 on the file of the third respondent, quash the same and consequently direct the second respondent to consider the proceedings in O.Mu.A1/7457/2022 dated 21.10.2022 and pass appropriate orders thereon.

2. The petitioner has challenged the impugned order solely on the ground that the third respondent, the Tahsildar, who is not competent to pass any order under the UDR Scheme, has passed the impugned order making certain entries in the UDR Register.

3. The fact that the third respondent, the Tahsildar, is not competent

to pass such an order making any entries in the UDR Register is not disputed by the learned Additional Government Pleader.

4. Admittedly, the District Revenue Officer is the competent authority to effect any entries in the UDR Register. The District Revenue Officer has been impleaded as the fourth respondent in this Writ Petition vide an order passed today in W.M.P.(MD) No.1163 of 2026. Since the third respondent, the Tahsildar, without any authority, has passed the impugned order, the same is set aside. Any such correction in respect of the property in question shall be carried out by the fourth respondent, the District Revenue Officer, in accordance with law.

5. With the above observations, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No

costs. Consequently, the connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
