PRAYER:- Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents 1 to 4 to consider the petitioner's representation dated 23.10.2019 and to direct the 1 to 4 respondents to cancel the alienations (leased out Government Poramboke lands) and resume the land in T.S.No.19/1 and 2 situated at West Veli Street, Madurai Town which is leased out by the 1^st respondents to the 5^th respondent by way of G.O.Ms.Nos.254 and 242 Revenue Department dated 27.01.1911 and 28.01.1972 respectively within a time frame fixed by this Court.

cancel the alienations (leased out Government Poramboke lands) and resume the land in T.S.No.19/1 and 2 situated at West Veli Street, Madurai Town which is leased out by the 1^st respondent to the 5^th respondent by way of G.O.Ms.Nos.254 and 242, Revenue Department dated 27.01.1911 and 28.01.1972 respectively within a time frame fixed by this Court.

2. When the matter is taken up for hearing, it is brought to the notice of this Court that the District Collector, Madurai has already recommended the resumption of the subject land. Pursuant to the said recommendation, the Commissioner of Land Administration, Chennai, has also recommended the same to the Principal Secretary, Revenue and Disaster Management Department, Chennai, vide letter dated 11.02.2022 and the matter is now pending before the Government. It is further informed that the Principal Secretary has also called for additional particulars from the District Collector.

3 . In view of the above, the Government is directed to take a final decision regarding the resumption of the subject land within a period of six months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

4. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
