This Writ Petition has been filed seeking the issuance of a writ of Mandamus directing the first and second respondents to consider the petitioner's passport renewal application in File No.MD2076688612326 dated 16.04.2026 in the light of the orders passed by the learned District Munsif-cum-Judicial Magistrate, Radhapuram in Crl.M.P.No.307 of 2026 and Crl.M.P.No.308 of 2026 both dated 29.05.2026 and consequently to

issue the petitioner's passport within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

2. Heard Mr.R.Maheswaran, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, Mr.V.Boominathan, learned Central Government Standing Counsel, who accepts notice on behalf of the respondent Nos.1 and 2, and Mr.R.Mohamed Riyaz, learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side), who accepts notice on behalf of the third respondent.

3. By consent of both parties, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself.

The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that, in respect of the very same issue, the petitioner had filed applications in Crl.M.P.Nos.307 and 308 of 2026 before the learned District Munsif-cumJudicial Magistrate, Radhapuram, seeking permission for renewal of his passport. The said applications were allowed by order dated 29.05.2026.

5. In view of the above, this Court is of the opinion that the petitioner is at liberty to file an appropriate application before the competent authority

for implementation of the orders passed by the learned District Munsif-cumJudicial Magistrate, Radhapuram, in Crl.M.P.Nos.307 and 308 of 2026, both dated 29.05.2026. Upon such application being made, the said orders shall be implemented in the manner known to law within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. With the above directions, this Writ Petition is closed. No costs.
