PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents 1 and 4 to give permission for provide Cauvery drinking water connection to 5^th respondent herein as per the proceedings in Na.Ka.No.4/2025 dated 03.10.2025.

The present writ petition has been filed seeking a mandamus directing the respondents 1 to 4 to give permission for providing cauvery drinking water connection based upon the recommendations of the 5^th respondent.

A perusal of the records reveal that S.Nos.167, 169 and 171 which

were earlier vested with the Ennai Village Panchayat have now been annexed to the 5^th respondent Town Panchayat. Therefore, the 5^th respondent had addressed a communication to the second respondent seeking permission to transfer the property tax to the Town Panchayat as well as to give water service connection. 23.01.2026 has informed that the tax records have already been deleted and it was shifted to the 5^th respondent Town Panchayat. Based upon the said communication, the 5^th respondent has addressed written instructions to the effect that based upon the Court orders, the water service connection would be provided.

In view of the above said facts, the 5^th respondent is directed to provide water service connection to the houses located in S.Nos.167, 169 and 171 on payment of necessary charges. The said exercise shall be completed within a period of 4(four) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

With the above said observations, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is also closed.
