This Writ Petition has been filed seeking the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the third respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 14.03.2026 and take appropriate action in accordance with law.

2. Heard Mr. K. Neethimohan, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, and Mrs. K.R. Shivashankari, learned Counsel for the State, who takes notice on behalf of respondent Nos.1 to 3.

3. Since no adverse order is proposed to be passed against respondent Nos. 4 and 5, notice to them is dispensed with.

The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner had submitted a representation dated 14.03.2026 to the official respondents requesting them to cancel the legal heir certificate already issued, include the name of the petitioner as a Class-I legal heir of her deceased father, and consequently issue a fresh legal heir certificate. According to the learned counsel, despite the submission of the said representation, no orders have been passed till date. Hence, the present Writ Petition has been filed.

The learned counsel for the petitioner further submitted that, without going into the merits of the petitioner's claim, it would suffice if this Court issues a direction to the competent authority to consider the petitioner's representation dated 14.03.2026 and pass appropriate orders within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

6. The learned Counsel for the State appearing for respondent Nos.1 to 3, has no serious objection to such a direction being issued.

Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the petitioner's claim, this Writ Petition is disposed of with a direction to the third respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 14.03.2026 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law. Such exercise shall be completed as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of six (6) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
