This Writ Petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus,

directing the first respondent to give necessary direction to the third respondent herein to consider the petitioner's representation/Appeal dated 17.12.2025, within the time frame to be fixed by this Court.

2 . By consent, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3 . The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the property in question originally belonged to the petitioner’s maternal uncle, namely, Subbaiyathevar. However, during the UDR scheme, the said property was erroneously classified as Anatheenam. Subsequently, Survey No.155 was subdivided into Survey Nos.155/1 to 155/12, and pattas came to be issued in respect of certain sub-divisions. Thereafter, the petitioner approached the third

and fourth respondents seeking cancellation of the erroneous UDR entry and the consequential entries, and further requested issuance of patta in favour of the petitioner in respect of Survey No.155. However, the fourth respondent rejected the petitioner’s claim vide proceedings dated 06.02.2023. Aggrieved by the same, the petitioner preferred a representation / appeal before the third respondent on 17.12.2025, which is still pending consideration without any progress. Hence, the present writ petition.

4 . The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents would

submit that the petitioner's representation / appeal will be considered and appropriate orders will be passed on merits and in accordance with law within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

Recording the above submission, and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the third respondent to consider the petitioner's representation / Appeal dated 17.12.2025, and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, after affording an opportunity of hearing to all the necessary parties, within a period of sixteen weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. to state that in the event of any rival claims, the parties are at liberty to work out
