This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents 3 to 5 to refrain from evacuating the scavengers from their allotted residential houses located at N.B.S. Nagar Colony, Thiruvannamalai Panchayat, Srivilliputhur Municipality, Virudhunagar District, without arranging alternative residential accommodation, as mandated under Section 13(c) of the Prohibition of Employment as Manual Scavengers and their Rehabilitation Act, 2013, on the basis of the petitioner’s representation dated 10.07.2019.

2.The grievance of the petitioner is that he had submitted a representation dated 10.07.2019 seeking alternative accommodation for the scavengers, and the same has not been considered so far.

3.Considering the fact that the representation was submitted long back

in the year 2019, this Court is of the view that the petitioner shall submit a fresh representation to the fourth respondent in this regard.

4.On receipt of such representation, the fourth respondent is directed to consider the same and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, as expeditiously as possible.

5.With the above directions, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, the connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
