This writ petition has been filed seeking a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to permanently absorb the petitioners in the Women Studies Centre.

2. This matter earlier came up for consideration on 04.06.2026 and the same was adjourned to today to enable the learned counsel appearing for the respondents 2 & 3 to get instructions in this matter.

Today, when the matter is taken up for consideration, Mr.K.Ragatheesh Kumar, learned counsel appearing for the respondents 2 & 3, on instructions, submitted that the respondents 2 & 3 are taking appropriate steps for placing the matter before the Finance Committee and then, seek concurrence from the first respondent and thereafter, the case of the petitioners would be considered by the respondent – University for absorption. He further submits that the said process is likely to take a minimum period of four months.

On the other hand, learned counsel for the petitioners contended that the petitioners are entitled for absorption and an identical benefit was extended to the Assistant Professors in Bharathiar University by the Principal Seat of this Court vide Order dated 02.09.2024 in W.P.No.16498 of 2024 and etc. batch and the hence, respondents herein may be directed to take into account the said order.

5. In the light of the above, this Court does not see any reason to keep the matter pending and inclined to adjudicate the matter at the first instance as the respondents themselves are ready to consider the case of the petitioners.

6. In the light of the above, this writ petition is disposed of

directing the respondents 2 & 3 to consider the representations submitted by the petitioners and process the same as proposed by the learned counsel for the respondents 2 & 3 and complete the entire exercise as expeditiously as possible, at any rate, within a period of four months from the date of receipt of a cop of this order. The respondents 2 & 3 may take into consideration the Order dated 02.09.2024 passed by the Principal Seat of this Court in W.P.No. 16498 of 2024 and etc. batch, while considering the case of the petitioners, if the same is otherwise applicable to the case on hand. No costs.
