This writ petition has been filed for direction directing the respondents to delete the name of complainant/ victim in the FIR in Cr.No.1 of 2026 and in the web portal of Tamil Nadu State Police Department and in all other records arising out of the FIR in Cr.No.1 of 2026.

2.The petitioner is the mother of the victim. The petitioner’s minor daughter was subjected to sexual assault by the accused. In 2/5

pursuant to the same, the fifth respondent registered the FIR in Cr.No.1 of 2026 by mentioning the victim girl’s name which is violation of the rights guaranteed to the victim by the Constitution of India.

3.On perusal of the counter and also the submissions made by the respondents reveal that CCTNS platform has subsequently been upgraded from version 1.0 to version 2.0 with enhanced features and safeguards. Therefore the earlier version of the portal has been now changed and as such no public can view the victim’s name in Cr.No.1 of 2026. Further, the FIR and other documents have not been displayed by the Investigation Officer to any public except the complainant. Neither the public nor any other cannot view the short display of CCTNS portal, unless they are known the date and time, crime number and police station.

4.In view of the above, the direction sought for in this petition complied with in so far as the hard copy of the FIR which is on the file of the POCSO Court, Coimbatore. The Trial Court is directed to permit the fifth respondent to delete the victim’s name by putting whitener.
