This writ petition has been filed for the following relief:

“ To issue a writ of certiorarified mandamus, calling

for the records in IOC/ TNSO/ OPS/ CBE/ C MAHALAKSHMI dated 09.10.2025 quash the same and consequently direct the 3^rd respondent to release the vehicles bearing registration numbers TN 88E 2283 and TN 88 E 2280.

Heard the learned counsels on both sides and perused the materials available on record.

It is submitted by the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents that the vehicles in question are now in the custody of the 4th respondent.

Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and without

going into the merits of the case, this writ petition is disposed of with the following directions:

¶33

(i) The petitioner is directed to give an undertaking before the 4^th respondent herein that as and when required, the vehicles will be produced before the 4^th respondent. Upon such undertaking being given, the 4^th respondent shall forthwith issue directions to the Indian Oil Corporation to release the vehicles bearing registration Numbers TN 88E 2283 and TN 88 E 2280 to the petitioner within a period of two weeks from the date of the said undertaking.

(ii) With reference to the recovery of compensation, it is open to the petitioner to institute the arbitration

proceedings as envisaged under the Metrology Department.

No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
