The writ petition has been filed seeking a direction to respondents to construct a building for public library in survey No.41/21, vacant Natham, Melnaraiyappanur village, Chinna Salem Taluk, Kallakuruchi District on the basis of the internal communication sent by 4^th respondent to 5^th respondent in Na.Ka. No.2086/ A2/ 2024 dated 14.10.2024.

Sub : Land Allocation – Kallakurichi District – Chinnasalem Taluk, Melnariyappanur Village, Survey No.41/21 – Petition by Tr.M.P.Ganesan requesting the allocation of 10 cents of land out of 0.14.52 sq.meters of vacant Government poramboke natham land to the Library Department for the construction of a library building – Reg.

Ref : Petition dated 26.11.2024 submitted by Ganesan, District President, Tamil Maanila Congress (Moopanar), Kallakurichi North District.

A letter cited under above reference has been received requesting the allocation of 10 cents of land from Melnariyappanur village Survey No.41/21 – 0.14.52 sq.meters of Government Poramboke Natham vacant land in Melanariyappanur village, Chinnasalem Taluk, Kallakurichi District, for the purpose of construction of a Library Building by the Library Department.

Therefore, with reference to the above matter, you are requested to conduct the necessary inquiry, obtain the required application form (LPS) from the concerned Department, and based on that, forward the appropriate proposal to this office.”

Learned counsel for petitioner submits that though the issue has been taken up with the competent authority, no progress took place after 12.12.2024.

In view of the aforesaid, respondents are directed to expedite the proceedings and take appropriate decision in accordance with law, within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. It is made clear that we have not expressed any opinion on the merits of the case.
