This Writ Petition has been filed to direct the 3rd Respondent to take

action on the petitioner’s representation dated on 29.09.2025.

2.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is the absolute owner of the property situated in S.F. No. 1164/2, measuring an extent of 22 cents, in Ramanchery Village. Approximately 80 years ago, the petitioner’s grandfather gifted an extent of 2 cents out of the total 22 cents to the local Panchayat to alleviate water scarcity in the village, wherein the Panchayat subsequently dug a public well. The petitioner’s family has been residing in and remains in absolute possession of the remaining 20 cents of land to date. Over a period of time, the said well became dry and fell into disuse by the villagers. Consequently, the petitioner submitted an application dated 29.09.2025 seeking the issuance of a patta for the entire 22 cents of land. As the said application has been kept pending by the authorities without any progress, the petitioner has approached this Court.

In reply, Mr.M.Guruprasad, learned Government Counsel who takes notice on behalf of the respondents 1 to 5 would submit that the petitioner’s

representation dated 29.09.2025 will be disposed of by the respondents within a period of six weeks.

Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Counsel for the respondents and also perused the materials available on record.

In view of the above, this Court directs the respondents 3 and 5 to consider the petitioner’s representation dated 29.09.2025 on its own merits and dispose of the same in accordance with law within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order, after issuing notice to the petitioner and shall afford him with an opportunity of personal hearing.

6. With the above directions, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
