The petitioner has filed this writ petition seeking a direction to the respondents to refund the sum of Rs.3,00,000/- deposited by him as security deposit.

The petitioner claims that he was the successful bidder in an auction conducted by respondents 2 and 3 in respect of the TASMAC building situated in Survey Nos.93/3, 93/4, 93/5, 97 and 100/1 at Amaravathipudur Village, Karaikudi. Pursuant to the auction, he deposited a sum of Rs.3,00,000/- as security deposit. According to the petitioner, on expiry of the lease period, he vacated the premises in the year 2018 and handed over vacant possession to respondents 2 and 3. However, despite surrendering possession, the security deposit has not been refunded.
