The petitioner has filed the present Writ Petition praying for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus to direct the 2nd respondent to take immediate steps to merge the assets and liabilities of the C.M.C. and Hospital Employees Cooperative Housing Society (Registration No.C-2495) with the new Society of the petitioner, namely CMC Employees Co-operative Housing Society Ltd., (Registration No.VLR/HSG/-1) within the time frame that may be fixed by this Court.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the grievance of the petitioner is that new Society is formed and it was in fact agreed that the CMC Hospital and newly formed Society would merge and the conditions of merger are also drawn. However, the second respondent is not acting upon the direction given by the first respondent-Registrar of Co-operative Societies. The petitioner has made several representations to the respondents herein to conclude the process of merger in accordance with the provisions of the Tamil Nadu Cooperative Societies Act.
