The petition has been filed to direct the second respondent to consider

the petitioner’s representation dated 06.01.2026 for promotion to the post of Deputy Tahsildar based on the Assistant list for the year 2014.

It is the case of the petitioner that he was appointed as Junior Assistant and cleared the Deparmental Exams and certificates were verified by the Directorate of School Examination. Thereafter, by an order of District Revenue Officer, Villupuram, petitioner was deputed to attend the Bhavani Sagar Training and he completed the training successfully. Thereafter, the petitioner was promoted as Senior Revenue Inspector. Meanwhile, by proceedings dated 10.12.2025, the third respondent placed the petitioner above one Jeganathan in the 2014 lists of Assistant. While so, it is the contention of the petitioner that the other officers whose names mentioned in the list were promoted to the post of Deputy Tahsildar whereas the said promotion was not conferred to him.

Aggrieved by the same, the petitioner made a representation dated 06.01.2026 before the second respondent, for which, there is no response till date. Therefore, the petitioner is before this Court.

Heard the learned counsel on either side and perused the materials

Considering the relief now sought for by the learned counsel for the

petitioner, this Court, without going into the merits of the case, directs the second respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 06.01.2026,

on merits and in accordance with law and to pass appropriate orders, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed. No costs.
