This Writ Petition has been filed for the following reliefs:-

“calling for the records in respect of rejection order issued to the petitioner (Reg.No.2201020098) by respondent vide Memorandum No.656/APD-B-Gr-II/ 2022 dated 10.04.2024 for the physical certificate verification in the combined civil services examination-II (Non-Interview Posts) (Group-II Services/ Group-IIA Services) vide notification No.03/2022 and quash the same and consequently direct the respondent to include the petitioner in the Zone of Consideration for the physical certificate verification.”

Brief Facts:-

The petitioner’s case is that the 1^st respondent had issued Notification No.03/2022 inviting applications for Group-II/II-A (Non-Interview Posts). The petitioner had applied under the special category of Destitute Widow and uploaded all required certificates, including the Community Certificate and Destitute Widow Certificate.

The petitioner had successfully cleared the preliminary examination

held on 21.05.2022 and subsequently appeared for the main examination conducted on 25.02.2023. The result of the main examination was published on

20.02.2024, wherein the petitioner was declared to have “reached the zone of consideration for on-screen certificate verification” .

The 1^st respondent further directed the candidates to upload special category certificates within the period from 20.02.2024 to 05.03.2024. The petitioner would submit that she had received a communication on 20.02.2024 directing her to upload a “rectified document” in her One Time Registration (OTR) profile. However, no specific details were reflected on the website. Upon enquiry through the 1^st respondent’s toll-free number, the petitioner was instructed to submit a fresh community certificate reflecting her father’s name instead of her husband’s name. Accordingly, the petitioner had applied for a fresh community certificate and Destitute Widow Certificate. Due to delay on the part of the Revenue authorities, the petitioner uploaded the acknowledgment receipts along with an undertaking stating that she would produce the certificates at the time of physical certificate verification.

On 08.04.2024, the 1^st respondent had published the written examination marks and called eligible candidates for physical certificate verification. However, the petitioner was treated under the General Category instead of the Destitute Widow category. Thereafter, on 10.04.2026, the 1st respondent had passed a rejection order vide Memorandum No. 656/APD-B-Gr-

II/2022 dated 10.04.2024, excluding the petitioner’s name from the zone of consideration under the special category. Challenging the same, the petitioner is before this Court.

Heard the learned counsel on either side and perused the records.

Today, a Status Report has been filed by the 1^st respondent. By way of

the said Status Report, it has been brought to the notice of this Court that, even if the petitioner is treated under the Destitute Widow category, the marks secured by her would not bring her within the zone of consideration, as the cutoff marks for the said category is 111.75, whereas the petitioner has secured only 107.25 marks.

In view of the above, this Writ Petition stands dismissed. No costs. Consequently, the connected Miscellaneous Petitions are closed.
