This Contempt Petition has been filed seeking orders to punish the contemnor/respondent for his willful and deliberate disobedience of the order of this Court passed in Crl.O.P(MD)No.13124 of 2024, dated 12.08.2024.

When the matter is taken up for hearing today (ie., 23.02.2026), Mr.Madhavan, Superintendent of Police, Tenkasi District, appeared in person and filed his report.

3.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the State, on instructions, would submit that they have already filed an applications seeking police custody of the accused 1 to 3 and the same are pending before the jurisdictional Magistrate Court.

Moreover, this Court in its order, dated 12.02.2026 observed that the concerned Police had taken permission from the learned Magistrate for further investigation vide order, dated 01.12.2025, but the Investigating Officer was directed to complete the investigation and file the further report within a period of one month. He would further submit that they have already filed an extension petition and no order has been passed till now.

The learned Additional Public Prosecutor would submit that during investigation, they came to know that the third accused had already transferred Rs.18,43,101/- even before the registration of FIR; that a sum of Rs.14,67,000/- has been transferred by the first accused to the defacto complainant's account and a sum of Rs.7,06,000/- came to be given in cash 2/4

and that the investigating officer has taken statement from the person, who

had handed over the said cash to the complainant.

6.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor would further submit that

the respondent police will complete the investigation within a period of three months and seeks three months further time.

The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit the defacto complainant is ready to co-operate for further investigation.

8.Considering the facts and circumstance of the case and taking note of

the submission made by the learned counsel on either side, the respondent police/Inspector of Police, Courtallam Police Station is directed to proceed with further investigation and complete the same and file a final report on or before 30.04.2026.
