This contempt petition is filed alleging disobedience of the order passed by this Court in Suo Motu W.P.No.574 of 2015, dated 07.06.2021.

At the time when the contempt petition was filed, the grievance of the petitioner is that in Arulmighu Devi Karumari Amman Temple at Tiruverkadu, Lord Srinivasa Perumal Sannidhi is situated and the officials of the HR & CE Department have attempted to shift the Srinivasa Perumal Sannidhi, which is in complete disobedience of the order passed by this Court in the suo-motu writ petition.

Today, when the contempt petition is taken up for hearing, learned Additional Advocate General appearing for respondent No.6 submitted that application was filed before the State Level Expert Committee as per the directions passed in the suo-motu writ petition and, only after obtaining necessary approval, the works have been undertaken and major part of the works is over and the entire renovation work will be completed within a period of three months.
