PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a writ of Mandamus, directing the 4^th and 5^th respondents to issue a Smart Card/ ration card to the petitioner family members by considering her representation dated 11.01.2025.

The Writ Petition seeks for a Mandamus to direct the respondents 4 and 5 to issue a smart card.

The petitioner pleads that she was a resident of Thiruppur. Subsequently, she shifted her residence to Eluvaraimukki Village, Thoothukudi District. She applied for a smart card and the same was originally rejected stating that she is living in a joint family. She pointed out to the respondents that she and her husband are living separately from her parents, but in the same Village and therefore, renewed her request for a smart card. That too was not considered. Hence, the Writ Petition.

When the matter came up for admission, I directed Mr.S.Shaji Bino, learned Special Government Pleader to instruct the respondents to process the petitioner's application and issue a smart card. He produced a letter to

the effect that the application should be made online and that if the petitioner makes out an application, it will be considered immediately.

It transpires that an application had, in fact, been made and it has been processed by the respondents.

When the matter was taken up for hearing today, Mr.S.Shaji Bino has produced the records to prove that a smart card bearing No.NPHH 333039575998 has been issued to the writ petitioner.
