Prayer : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, to call for records relating to the rejection of the refusal check slip bearing No. RFL/Kayathar/12/2025 dated 04.11.2025 passed by the 2nd respondent herein and quash the same as illegal and consequently direct the 2nd respondent herein to register the rectification deed in relation to the settlement deed dated 21.07.2025 registered as Doc. No.2777/2025, in favor of the petitioner herein, relating to the properties described therein, in accordance with the provisions of the Registration Act.

Heard both sides.

The rectification deed dated 28.10.2025 executed in favour of the writ petitioner by his father was presented for registration. Registration was refused on the sole ground that the document in respect of which rectification is sought was not produced in original. Challenging the refusal check slip, this writ petition came to be filed.

When the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the original settlement deed is readily available and he would produce the same, while re-presenting the rectification deed. Since on this sole ground, registration was refused, on production of the original settlement deed dated 21.07.2025, the rectification deed shall be registered and released subject to fulfilment of other usual formalities.
