This writ petition is filed seeking a mandamus directing the

respondents to arrange and provide basic facilities, such as drinking water, public lavatory and public transport to facilitate the offering of tributes by the common public to Freedom Fighter Thyagi (Late) Immanuvel Sekarnar, which is proposed to be conducted on 11.09.2025 and subsequent dates.

We have had occasion to consider W.P.(MD) No.24433 of

2025, also relating to the same event, and had occasion to look into the

measures taken by the District Administration

for streamlining of the aforesaid event.

When the matter was mentioned yesterday citing urgency, we had directed that a set of papers be served on the official respondents as we were of the view that the prayer of the petitioner was reasonable.

Today Mr.M.Ajmal Khan, learned Additional Advocate General, assisted by Mr.P.Thilak Kumar, learned Government Pleader for R3 and Mr.P.Kottai Chamy, learned Government Advocate appearing for R2 and R3 would submit that necessary measures have been put in place for the ease and comfort of the general public, specifically bearing in mind the request of the petitioner for water, lavatory and other basic facilities.

5.Learned counsel for the petitioner also states that the petitioner is satisfied with the arrangements that have been so made.
