Prayer : Writ Petition Criminal is filed under Article 226 of the Constittution of India to issue writ of mandamus directing the respondents 1, 2 and 5 to 7 to take appropriate action for conducting temple festival in Sri Valluvar Appachi temple premises in Survey No.215/7 in Anna Nagar, Neduvasal East Village, Alangudi Taluk, Pudukkottai District on the basis of the petitioner's representation dated 21.08.2025 in accordance with law within the time stipulated by this Court.

2. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent

police would submit that there is a dispute between the private respondents and the petitioner with regard to management of the private temple and therefore, police cannot interefere.

3. Heard both side and perused the records.

As rightly submitted by the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, the respondent police cannot interfere with the disputes between the private respondents and the petitioner with regard to management of the private temple. It is for the petitioner to seek appropriate remedy from the civil court, in case his rights are affected. Since police cannot interfere with such disputes, this Court cannot issue any direction as prayed for by the petitioner.

5. In fine, this petition is dismissed.
