This Writ Petition has been filed in the nature of a Mandamus, seeking a direction against the respondent to consider the representations dated 29.08.2022 and 11.10.2022, relating to the revised salary of the husband of the petitioner.

It is contended that the juniors obtained more pay than the seniors. In the affidavit filed in support of the writ petition, it had been contended that the husband of the petitioner had worked as the Head of the Department in Economics at Pachayappas College, Chennai - 30. He joined on 31.01.1985 and had retired from service on 31.05.2017. It had been contended that his junior, V. Gnanakumari, was getting more pay. It had been stated that, questioning this particular anomaly, the petitioner had given representations.

A direction is given to the respondent to examine the service records of the husband of the petitioner, S. Soundararaj and also of the junior, V. Gnanakumari, and then come to a subjective satisfactory conclusion as to whether the husband of the petitioner had been paid salary in accordance with his seniority, or whether he had suffered since the junior

had been paid more salary. An order in this regard is to be passed by the respondent within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
