ORDER

¶20

(1)Mr.K.Suresh, learned Government Advocate accepts notice on behalf of the

respondent. With the consent of both the learned counsels, the main writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage.

(2)The writ petition is filed for a mandamus to direct the respondent to consider

the representation of the petitioner dated 10.05.2025, for revoking the Settlement Deed dated 17.10.2015, in Doc.No.5115/2015 executed by the petitioner in favour of his 2nd daughter, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

(3)The petitioner purchased the Flat at Flat No.2, Alfa Enclave, 3rd Street, Vyasar Nagar, in Plot No.7, Door No.44, Ayanavaram, Chennai 600 023, out of his hard earned money in the year 2014. The petitioner along with his wife and 2nd daughter, were residing in the above said Flat. The petitioner executed a Settlement Deed on 17.10.2015, in favour of his 2nd daughter. While so, the petitioner's second daughter subjected the petitioner and his wife to continuous verbal abuse, neglect and emotional harassment, severely

impacting the physical and mental well being of the petitioner and his wife.

The petitioner therefore decided to revoke the Settlement Deed executed by

him in favour of his 2nd daughter and in furtherance of the said decision, he

¶30

submitted a representation on 10.05.2025, to the respondent. As no action was taken on the petitioner's representation for revocation of the Settlement

¶31

Deed by the 2nd respondent, the petitioner filed the above writ petition for the

¶32

aforesaid prayer.

(4)Heard both the learned counsels and perused the materials placed on record.

¶34

(5)In view of the facts and circumstances of the case, considering that the

¶35

petitioner is a Senior Citizen, a direction is issued to the respondent to dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 10.05.2025, on merits and in accordance with law and pass orders within a period of twelve weeks from

the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

¶37

(6)The writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
