Madras High Court, single Judge (Krishnan Ramasamy J.), 20.08.2025: Five writ petitions (W.P.Nos.22041, 22044, 22048, 22056 & 22062 of 2025) filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India by GST-registered traders/firms (Sri Bannariamman Enterprises, Goodwill Traders, Sun Traders, Lotus Steel, Platinum Steel) sought a Writ of Certiorari and directions to the respective Second Respondents to forthwith unblock their Electronic Credit Ledgers, which had been blocked under Rule 86A of the Tamil Nadu Goods and Services Tax Rules, 2017 / Central Goods and Services Tax Rules, 2017 vide Reference Nos.BL3305250000217 (07.05.2025), BL3304250001110 (30.04.2025), BL3305250000215 (07.05.2025), BL3305250000606 (21.05.2025) and BL3305250000599 (21.05.2025) for the respective GSTINs. Before adjudication, learned counsel for the petitioners sought leave to withdraw the petitions and made an endorsement in the case bundles. The Court dismissed the writ petitions as withdrawn, without costs, and closed the connected miscellaneous petitions (W.M.P.Nos.24773, 24775, 24780, 24792 & 24797 of 2025). No merits were adjudicated; no issues framed, no precedent engaged.
