The instant writ petition has been filed with a prayer for issuing a mandamus to direct the first respondent to dispose of the revision petition filed by the petitioner on 20.02.2025, pending on his file, within a fixed time frame that may be fixed by this Court.

The learned Senior Counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner was given a charge memo dated 21.02.2019, and thereafter proceeded with an enquiry and passed a final order. Aggrieved by the same, the petitioner preferred an appeal; in the appeal, the order of the disciplinary authority was confirmed. Aggrieved by the order of the Appellate Authority, the petitioner preferred a revision petition on 20.02.2025 before the first respondent, and the same is still pending. He would further submit that the petitioner is going to retire from service very shortly. Therefore, the said revision petition has to be considered within a reasonable time.

respondents would fairly submit that the first respondent would consider the said revision petition made by the petitioner within a reasonable time.

Heard the learned counsel for both sides and perused the materials available on record.

In view of the above submission, without going into merits of the matter, this Court deems it appropriate to direct the first respondent to dispose of the petitioner's revision petition dated 20.02.2025, on it's own merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

In the result, this Writ Petition is disposed of with the above observations. No costs.
