The Habeas Corpus Petition is filed for a direction to direct the first and

second respondents to secure the petitioner's wife namely Mrs.Shalini Preethi, W/o.Yuvaraj, aged about 23 years and produce her or her body or corpus before this Court and set her at liberty forthwith.

2.The case of the petitioner is that he got married to one Shalini Preethi, aged about 23 years on 28.05.2025 at Arulmighu Sri Valividu Murugan Temple, Ramanathapuram. There was no misunderstanding between them. While so, on 05.06.2025 after 8 days of wedding, the petitioner along with his wife had visited Madurai Meenakshi Amman Temple and subsequently, proceeded to Glow Skin Care Hospital at K.K.Nagar, Madurai, while the petitioner was waiting at the reception, she had gone to the wash room at 12.00 noon and she did not return

and later, her phone was switched off. Thereafter, the petitioner had searched her wife in the mother-in-law's house and unable to find out the whereabouts of his wife. Therefore, the mother-in-law gave a complaint before the second respondent police, based on which, a case in Crime No.470 of 2025 was registered under Woman Missing. Since the respondents had not taken any action to find out the whereabouts of his wife, the present Habeas Corpus Petition is filed.

3.The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner's

wife was found missing and the petitioner's mother-in-law's had given a complaint and no steps have been taken by the respondent police.

4.Today the second respondent has filed the Status Report.

5.The learned Additional Public prosecutor appearing for the respondents submitted that based on the complaint given by the petitioner's mother-inlaw(mother of the detenue), a case in Crime No.470 of 2025 was registered under Woman missing. Preliminary investigation reveals that the missing person on her

own volition, gone along with one Ramamoorthy, her uncle, who landed in Madurai Airport from Dubai. Thereafter, they were roaming in and around Puthur area. The wife of the said Ramamoorthy, had also given a complaint before the Embassy Officials in Dubai about the missing of her husband. He further submitted that on verification with the Immigration Authorities disclosed that the said Ramamoorthy had not gone from India and the investigation is going on.

6.Since the missing person is not under illegal detention of anybody and the investigation is going on, the Habeas Corpus Petition stands closed. However, the respondent police are directed to continue with the investigation.
