The present Writ Petition has been filed seeking police protection to

the petitioner for conducting Bhajans and Annadhanas on the eve of Tamil New Year on 14.04.2017 at Sri Ayyappa and Guruvayurappan temple at 0/2, 4th cross street, Dhandeeswaram Nagar, velachery, chennai-600 042.

The learned Senior Counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that there were several disputes between the petitioner and the persons who had interfered in the petitioner's conducting of Bhajans and Annadhanam; that a learned Single Judge of this Court had interfered and mediated between the parties and that the parties have now arrived at a settlement and therefore, the prayer sought for in this Writ Petition has

become infructuous. The learned Senior counsel also submitted that the petitioner may be given liberty to file a fresh petition as and when need arises.

In view of the above submissions, the Writ Petition is dismissed as infructuous. It is needless to say that as and when there is a requirement for police protection, it is always left open to the petitioner to approach the first respondent, which may be considered by them in accordance with law.
