We have heard Mr.R.Jaganathan, learned counsel for the petitioners, Mr.P.Harish, learned Government Advocate for respondents 1 to 4 and 6; Mr.A.Anandan, learned counsel for respondents 5 and 7.

The petitioners seek stay of the order passed by the fifth respondent. It is a notice issued by the Block Development Officer. Naturally, the respondent authorities will have to follow the provisions of the Tamil Nadu Land Encroachment Act, 1905. In the event of any notice being issued under Section 7 of the Act of 1905, the petitioners can file a reply to the same.

The petitioners may prosecute the representation as may be

permissible in law.

The writ petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order

as to costs. Consequently, WMP No.7611 of 2024 is closed.
