PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the 2^nd respondent herein namely the Assistant Electricial Engineer, TANGEDCO, Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation Limited, Andavakkam village Panchayat, Madurantakkam Block, Chengalpattu District, to give electricity connection to the petitioner house in Door No.9, Vedanthangal Road, Andavakkam Village Panchayat, Madurantakkam Block, Chengalpattu District, pursuant to the online application made by the petitioner vide Application Reference number 20009525022436 dated 04.02.2024.

They are armed with instructions to enable final disposal of this Writ Petition, even at the stage of admission.

The petitioner has made an application for electricity connection to the

property at Door No.9, Vedanthangal Road, Andavakkam Village Panchayat,

Madurantakkam Block, Chengalpattu District ('property'/'property in question').

The application bears reference No.20009525022436 and has been filed on 04.02.2024. The Writ Petition has been instituted immediately very proximate to the filing of the Writ Petition on 15.02.2024. There is really no justification for this hurried approach to this Court.

This is all the more for the reason that Ms.Shenoi, on instructions, would submit that the petitioner's application could not be processed for the reason that the registration charges have itself not been paid.

In such circumstances, this Court does not find it necessary to consider issuance of mandamus. I merely record the statement of learned counsel for R1 and R2 to the effect that once the petitioner does the needful in terms of paying necessary charges as well as all other requirements under the Act, Rules and Regulations, the application will be disposed expeditiously.

This Writ Petition is disposed in terms of this order. No costs.
