The Writ Petition has been filed in the nature of a Mandamus seeking a direction against the 1st respondent, Commissioner, Corporation of Chennai to renew the salon and spa in the name and style of Sulivan Enterprises Pvt. Ltd., Suave Salon situated at No.23, 1^st Floor, 4^th Street, Abiramapuram, Alwarpet, Chennai 600 018, within a stipulated time.

2.In the affidavit filed in support of the writ petition, it had been stated that the petitioner had commenced the aforementioned business in the year 2008 and had been obtaining renewal of license regularly. It had been stated that the petitioner had applied for license in the year 2023. It was not processed and

thereafter, she was also not notified about the outcome of the application. She had filed another application on 18.11.2024. It is contended that the 3rd respondent, Inspector of Police, Alwarpet Police Station had visited the premises on 15.11.2024 and had directed the petitioner to run the SPA only after obtaining prior license. It is contended that the application had been submitted in the year 2023 itself and that the same had not been processed. Seeking a direction for processing the application the writ petition was filed.

3.The Court sought a commitment from the respondents about the outer

date within which the application would be processed by the respondents. It is now contended by the learned Standing Counsel for the 1st respondent that they would have to get the remarks from the Police Department and Health Department and thereafter, the remarks would have been to be placed before the Committee which convenes once every month and then orders would be passed.

4.The following directions are issued:

(i) The remarks may be forwarded by the Police Department and by

the Health Department, within a period of seven working days from the date

of receipt of copy of this order.

(ii) The first respondent may thereafter pass appropriate orders on the

application filed by the petitioner herein within a period of three weeks.

5.The entire process must be completed within a period of four weeks

from the date of receipt of copy of this order.

6.The Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs. Consequently,

connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
