The Writ on hand has been instituted challenging the order dated 11.09.2018, passed by the Central Administrative Tribunal, Chennai Bench, in O.A.No.310/1620 of 2015.
2.The Tribunal directed the writ petitioners/respondents in O.A.No.310/1620 of 2015 to consider the relief sought for by the
respondents/applicants in O.A.No.310/1620 of 2015, in the light of the orders of the Madras High Court in W.P.Nos.18611 & 18612/2011.

3.The issue relating to stepping up of pay on par with the juniors was
decided by the Karnataka Central Administrative Tribunal and the High Court of Karnataka. However, SLP (Civil) Diary No(s).5973 of 2018 was filed before the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India and the Apex Court granted stay of operation of the judgment passed by the High Court of Karnataka. Similarly, other matters are also pending and the Apex Court tagged those matters along with SLP (C) No.21803 of 2014. Since similar issues are pending before the Supreme Court of India, the directions issued by the Central Administrative Tribunal, Chennai, in the impugned order cannot be implemented by the petitioner department. However, after disposal of the appeals by the Supreme Court of India, all necessary actions are directed to be taken by the petitioner department with reference to the grievances of the respondents/employees.
4.Till the disposal of the cases by the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India, the impugned order passed by the Central Administrative Tribunal, dated 11.09.2018, in O.A.No.310/1620/2015, is kept in abeyance and after disposal of the appeals pending before the Apex Court, it can be acted upon.

5.Accordingly, the writ petition stands disposed of. No Costs.
