A status report has been filed by the CBI, in which it has been stated as follows:
“The investigation concluded that while the
government failed to initiate timely legal proceedings and appeal the court's decision, there was no evidence of intentional wrong doing or conspiracy between officials and landowners. The delay in action was attributed to bureaucratic inefficiencies and delays in obtaining legal opinions rather than any criminal intent. Therefore, no criminal charges were filed against the officials involved.
Thus, CBI had filed “Closure Report” before the learged Additional II District Judge cum Special Judge
for CBI Cases, Coimbatore on 22.01.2025 and the same
is pending for consideration.”
