Heard Mr.G.Arun, learned counsel for the petitioner; and Mr.K.Karthik Jagannath, learned Government Advocate for the respondents.

The petitioner is challenging an order under Section 6 of the Tamil Nadu Land Encroachment Act, 1905.

An appeal lies against the order passed under Section 6 of

the Act of 1905.

Considering the fact that the writ petition is filed, if the

appeal is filed within a period of seven days from today, the authority concerned shall consider the same to be within limitation. The petitioner may also file an application for stay. For a period of 15 days from today, the authorities may not take any adverse action against the petitioner pursuant to the order under Section 6 of the Act of 1905. It is made clear that, on the lapse of 15 days, the protection granted by this court shall come to an end. The parties shall be governed by the order passed by the Collector.

The writ petition is disposed of accordingly. There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, W.M.P.No.2698 of 2024 is closed.
