The petitioner herein seeks a direction to the 1^st respondent to consider

his representation dated 05.07.2023 seeking issuance of patta in respect of the land with an extent of 500 sq.ft., in New Survey No.544 situated at Korattur Village, Ambattur Taluk.

It is the case of the petitioner that he has been residing in 500 sq.ft., of land in the above mentioned survey number for the past 40 years. Based on his long possession, he submitted a representation before the 1^st respondent on 05.07.2023 seeking issue of patta. The same has not been considered by the 1^st respondent till date. Hence, the petitioner is before this Court.

respondents 1 and 5, by producing a copy of the A-Register of the Village, submitted that S.No.544 is classified as a Government Poramboke and in the remark column, it is mentioned as 'Pathway'. Therefore, the request of the petitioner for issue of patta in pathway cannot be considered.

In view of the fact S.No.544 is mentioned as pathway in the A-Register of the Village, the petitioner's request for issue of patta cannot be considered by the Official Respondents. Therefore, this Court is not inclined to issue any positive direction in favour of the petitioner. Accordingly, the Writ Petition stands dismissed.

However, it is open to the petitioner to file appropriate application before the respondents seeking assignment patta in respect of some other land subject to petitioner satisfying eligibility criteria. No costs.
