The writ of mandamus has been instituted to direct the respondents 1 to

4 to take action on petitioner’s representation dated 03.12.2018 and remove

the encroachments comprised in Suvey Nos.67/1 and 22/3 situated at Neerkundram Village, Uthiramerur Taluk, Kancheepuram District.

With reference to the relief sought for, the respondents 2, 3 and 4

are directed to conduct survey and identify the encroachments if any in Government properties and thereafter issue a show cause notice and evict the encroachments by following the procedures as contemplated.

The Commissioner of Land Administration, Chennai is directed to collect the details regarding Grama Natham lands in that locality and issue suitable instructions to the Sub-ordinate Authorities to protect all these lands and utilise the same for the benefit of the public at large. All encroachments in the Grama Natham lands are also to be evicted by following the procedure.

The said exercise is directed to be completed within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

Accordingly, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. There shall be

no order as to costs.
