This writ petition has been filed for issuance of direction to the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 15.04.2024 with regard to the supply of the electricity with the assured contracted load of HP with appropriate voltage applicable under the Tamil Nadu Electricity Supply Code, 2004 for the service connection of the petitioner in Service Connection No.417-007130.

The case of the petitioner is that he is the absolute owner of the

land measuring to an extent of 11.80acres in S.No.164/1D, Kakkankarai Village, Tirupatur Taluk, Tirupattur District in Patta No.296. On 30.08.2023, the petitioner applied for electricity supply, under tatkal

scheme [registered No.1018 and tracking No.4170823483]. Thereafter, on 14.09.2023, the petitioner requested for power supply with load capacity of 7.5HP and deposited a sum of Rs.2,75,000/- to the respondents.

Subsequently, the respondent provided Low Tension supply electricity connection with service connection No.417-007-1304 under Tarrif No.IV. The service connection was provided with load capacity of 7.5 HP. The service connection is located at about 1.5kms from the nearest transformer SS II, Kakkankarai. The tariff applicable to the petitioner for all the 3 phases combined together should be between 380 to 420 volts and the 7.5 HP electric motor would run at 14 to 16 amps. At present, the power supplied to the petitioner service connection is as low as 240 volts, due to which the pump set runs at 25amps which is quite abnormal. The bore well is 1000 feet and submersible motor pump is fixed inside the bore well at the depth of 800ft. The voltage electricity supply should not be less than 380 volts and if there is any drop in voltage and fluctuation in power supply, the submersible motor will be damaged due to low voltage and power drop. It is also stated that standing tress are there in the petitioner's land, the trees are to be regularly irrigated.

by way of appeal to the Consumer Grievance Redressal Forum of the TANGEDCO and given the complaint in the prescribed format. Hence, the petitioner filed the present writ petition.

Mr.S.Madhu Sudhanan, learned standing counsel for the TANGEDCO submits that the respondents are taking all effective steps to install a transformer in the nearby area, where the petitioner's land is situated and submits that the said work will be completed within a short period of time.

Recording the aforesaid details and onsidering the facts and circumstances along with the submissions so made by the learned standing counsel for the respondents, this writ petition is allowed, with a direction to the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 15.04.2024 preferably within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
