Though the appellants have challenged the Act itself in the writ petitions, pending the writ appeals, the matter was settled by the Honourable Supreme Court of India in the case of Mohan Rov and others v. State of Tamil Nadu and others reported in (2022) 12 SCC 696. Challenging the order of the learned Single Judge, a batch of writ appeals were filed and they were disposed of on the same lines of the judgment of the Honourable Supreme Court.

accordingly, both the writ appeals are also dismissed as infructuous. However, the appellants are at liberty to work out their remedy in the manner known to law. No costs. Consequently, the connected Civil Miscellaneous Petitions are dismissed.
