marriage between the petitioner and the respondent was solemnized on 22.06.2008 and right from the date of marriage, there were disputes between the petitioner and the respondent and they lived together only till 2012. The petitioner has filed a petition in H.M.O.P.No.162 of 2019 seeking divorce before the Family Court, Thiruvallur, on the ground of cruelty and the Family Court, after full-fledged trial, has allowed the petition granting decree of divorce vide judgment dated 31.10.2022. After receipt of the notice in the divorce petition, the respondent filed a petition claiming maintenance in M.C.No.6 of 2022 before the District Munsif cum Judicial Magistrate, Uthukottai, wherein, the petitioner filed a detailed counter narrating the facts that he has no means to maintain himself and that without any sufficient reason, the respondent refuses to live with the petitioner. However, the trial Court has awarded a sum of Rs.7,000/- as monthly maintenance to the respondent to be paid by the petitioner from the date of filing the petition (i.e.,) 17.08.2022. Aggrieved over the same, the present revision has been filed.
