The petitioner is working as Inspector of Police, All Women Police Station, Tiruvannamalai. In the year 2015, when she had been served as Sub-Inspector of Police at Umerabath, Thirupathur District, a case was registered in Cr. No.267 of 2015 for the alleged offences under Sections 302 read with 34 and 201 of IPC. The said case was ended with acquittal. The defacto complainant in that case, namely the respondent herein, has filed a private complaint under Section 200 of Cr.P.C. against this petitioner and two other police officials before the Judicial Magistrate, Ambur for the offences under Sections 118, 119, 129(B), 167, 171(e), 201, 202, 212, 213, 221 and 225(A) of IPC and the same was taken on file in C.C. No.273 of 2015 and after committal proceedings, it was numbered as S.C. No.24 of 2022. As per the allegations levelled in the case, the defacto complainant's son was forcibly administered with poison by the accused, thereby he died. Thereafter, this petitioner and other police officials failed to discharge their official duty and they acted in favour of the accused and acted in hurried manner.
