This Criminal Original Petition has been filed by the petitioner, who was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 26.07.2024, seeking bail in Crime No.4 of 2024 for the alleged offences punishable under Sections 328, 302 of IPC and 4(1)(i) and 4(1-A) of the Tamil Nadu Prohibition Act.

He also submitted that the petitioner is a habitual offender having 27 previous cases of similar nature and he is also responsible for the hooch tragedy and the specific overt act against the petitioner is that he helped other accused in transferring the methylated spirit brought by one of the accused named Chinnadurai. He further submitted that if the petitioner is released on bail, there is every possibility of him absconding and not available for trial.
