The petitioners/A1 to A3, who were arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 02.08.2024 for the offences under Sections 126(2), 294(b), 118(1), 103(1) and 351(3) of the BNS in Crime No.502 of 2024, on the file of the respondent police, seek bail.

that on the date of occurrence, there was a wordy quarrel between the petitioners and the deceased regarding the driving of vehicles on the road and ended in a scuffle. He further submitted that the petitioners have been in custody since 02.08.2024; that they are law-abiding citizens; and that they are ready and willing to furnish substantial sureties for their due release on bail and to abide by any conditions that may be imposed by this Court and therefore, he prayed to grant bail to the petitioners.
the respondent police submitted that the petitioners chased and waylaid the deceased lorry, abused him, assaulted him with a wooden log, and threatened him with dire consequences. He further submitted that the accused were arrested only on 02.08.2024; and that the investigation is at an initial stage. Hence, he vehemently opposed the grant of bail to the petitioners.

investigation is at an initial stage, and considering that the offences are grave in nature, this Court is declining to grant bail to the petitioners at this stage. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition stands dismissed.
